About Nautica Entertainment Complex

Situated in Cleveland’s historic riverfront Flats district, the Nautica Entertainment Complex has been attracting millions of visitors annually since 1987. Anchored by two dramatic jackknife bridges, the Complex offers exceptional dining and exhilarating entertainment in a dramatic setting where you can see giant lake freighters maneuver the Cuyahoga River.

The hub of the Complex is the First Energy Powerhouse. This National Historic Landmark, which originally powered Cleveland’s electric railway and streetcar system, is now home to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, Windows on the River and the Trolley Tours. The IMPROV Comedy Club and Restaurant and Shooters on the Water, a popular casual restaurant offering entertainment and panoramic river views are located in the Sugar Warehouse. The Apartments at Nautica building with McCarthy’s Downtown and the Nautica Charity Poker Festivals are within walking distance. Also, located along the river’s edge of the Complex are Jacobs Pavilion, a 5,000 seat outdoor amphitheater, the half-mile Nautica Boardwalk and the dock for the the Nautica Queen, Cleveland’s popular dining and sightseeing cruise ship.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium, a tenant in the First Energy Powerhouse, features over 70,000 square feet of aquarium and aquarium-related uses, including 10 aquarium exhibition areas with 42 tanks integrated into the Powerhouse. The main attraction at the aquarium is the Marinescape’s Seatube®, a world-class attraction that allows visitors to experience life under the sea in a clear, 145’ walk-through tunnel. It is the only freestanding aquarium in Ohio.

Visitors can enjoy an interactive experience and water-filled journey as they observe thousands of living creatures. From the Ohio-native brook trout, to the ferocious piranhas, as well as sand tiger sharks that can reach more than seven feet long. The shark tank delights guests with sharks, eels, seahorses and a wide variety of saltwater wonders, and often with scuba divers who interact with guests.
